A huge thank you to Grégory Raymond and the The Big Whale team (Dimitri Granger & Raphaël Bloch) for this interview. Always on top!

One amazing thing in Switzerland is that this legal consultation takes place 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 to the parliamentary vote during which the industry is officially consulted on the 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 bill.

We are only at the beginning of the process:

➡️ After 6 February, the federal administration will still need to analyse the submissions, identify the themes requiring modification from its perspective, prepare the consultation report, and explain which changes will be adopted or rejected and for what reasons.

➡️ On this basis, the Federal Council will revise the draft, clarifying, removing, or strengthening specific provisions.

➡️ Then, only then, the parliamentary process will begin to adopt or amend the provisions.

➡️ Even once the law has been adopted, an optional referendum may still be requested within 100 days to challenge the legislation.

So exciting time ! 🤓

Together with the Swiss Blockchain Federation and Crypto Valley Association, we have jointly prepared a position paper proposing adjustements to the framework for Switzerland. Our comprehensive response to the consultation is available here: https://lnkd.in/eecPXBnu

Other associations and law firms will mostly take positions as well until February 6th. This draft bill is a proposal, we will take positions to ensure that Switzerland remains an innovation hub.
